Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Kendalia began playing violin when she was 12 after years of pleading with her parents. Her initial struggles with the instrument were transformed into a true love when she began studies with Susan Bret and later with Doris Fukawa. She began her undergraduate studies at University of Colorado Boulder under Professor Charles Wetherbee with a business minor and certificate in music entrepreneurship. She has also completed credits for a graduate certificate in arts administration. Furthermore, she received her Masters of Music in Violin Performance with a specialization in violin pedagogy at the University of Oregon under the instruction of Professors Fritz Gearhart and Anthea Kreston. She has held orchestral positions with the Olympia Symphony Orchestra, Eugene Concert Orchestra, Lake Chelan Bach Festival Orchestra, Bay Area Youth Orchestra Festival, CU Symphony, UO Symphony, and Rogue Valley Symphony. In addition, she is the violinist in the Pacific Trio based in Eugene, OR. She has attended the Interlochen Violin Summer Institute, Marrowstone Music Festival, Crowden Chamber Music Workshop, and Siena International Music Program and was also selected to be a teaching artist for the 2020 Colorado Lullaby Project.
Kendalia’s passion for arts business was initially stoked through her leadership roles with the Diverse Musicians' Alliance and CU College of Music's Student Government. Kendalia's dedication to her business career led her to pursue n Masters in Business Administration with a focus on innovation and entrepreneurship, and advanced strategy and leadership. She excelled in her studies, graduating in the top 20% of her class. She has worked with Seattle Symphony and Boulder Philharmonic as an Education and Community Engagement Intern and Development and Marketing Intern, respectively. In addition, she worked with the Oregon Mozart Players in Eugene as the Development and Special Events Associate. She was selected to be apart of the 2021 Eastman Leadership Academy cohort and Fellow at the SphinxConnect 2020 conference as an arts administrator and violinist.
Through her passionate stage presence, different approaches to concerts, and ability to collaborate with other musicians, she provides eye-opening, multi-cultural musical experiences that include classical music, tango, pop, and other musical genres to audiences that welcome diverse musical forms from a variety of cultures.
